Vero Sandoval

University Federal Credit Union

Veronica Sandoval, a native of East Austin and daughter of a hardworking single mother, understands firsthand the transformative power of community support.

Raised by her mother, Maria Ana, who migrated from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Veronica witnessed her mother's resilience as a custodian for over three decades with the Austin Independent School District. Despite the challenges of raising a family on a custodian's salary, Maria Ana always found innovative ways to make ends meet, even sending Veronica, at just eight years old, to sell pastelitos in the neighborhood to contribute to the family's income.

One of Veronica's fondest memories from her childhood was visiting the bank on Saturdays with her family, where the staff always treated them with kindness. This experience instilled in her a deep understanding of the importance of financial literacy and the value of hard work.

Now, as a member of the Financial Success Program team at University Federal Credit Union, Veronica is passionate about empowering underserved communities with the tools and resources they need to achieve financial stability. She believes wholeheartedly in the power of collaboration and is committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
